SADA Systems has earned the Google Cloud Global Reseller Partner of the Year award for 2018.

The cloud technology consulting services company picked up the award at the Google Cloud Next ’19 conference in San Francisco today for its achievements in the Google Cloud ecosystem -- helping joint customers achieve digital transformation through the use of Google Cloud technologies and solutions.

“It feels great to be recognized for our business model, for the work that we do,” SADA CEO Tony Safoian said. “Our strategy is so unique in that it’s completely oriented around driving the most revenue to Google as possible, and it’s also diverse across the Google Cloud set of solutions. It’s not just one thing -- its G Suite and Cloud Search and Google Cloud Platform and Chrome and even Maps -- so it’s really comprehensive from that standpoint.”

The North Hollywood, Calif.-based SADA, a Google Premier Partner, last month sold its Microsoft business – which represented about one-third of its workforce -- to Core BTS to focus exclusively on Google Cloud.

“If we intended to be the best in the world at Google Cloud, we felt that it was going to require tremendous focus and singular focus,” Safoian said. “We’re globally No. 1 with Google, and we want to take the opportunity to grow with Google, follow that momentum and make as a big an impact in the market as possible.”

SADA provides technology consultation and assessment, planning and implementation, customization and development, change management and managed services to Google Cloud users, including customers such as Colgate-Palmolive, Hunterdon Healthcare, Media News Group, Hackensack Meridian Health, Marriott, the Chicago Department of Transformation and the state of Arizona. It achieved Google Cloud’s infrastructure, location-based services and enterprise collaboration partner specializations in the last six months and has several more specializations in progress.

“SADA has proven its expertise in Google Cloud and has demonstrated its commitment to customer success over the past year,” Carolee Gearhart, Google Cloud’s vice president of worldwide channel sales, said in a statement. “We’re excited to keep building on our partnership with SADA as more and more customers look to our ecosystem to help them succeed in the cloud.”

SADA generated about $130 million in revenue last year, and Safoian expects to hit $150 million or more this year, even with the divestiture of the Microsoft business.

“The GCP business is the fastest growing part of what we do, but all the lines of business are growing for us,” he said. “We have over a 98 percent renewal rate in our G Suite business, which is remarkable.”

SADA previously earned the Google Cloud North America Sales Partner of the Year award in 2017, and the Google Cloud Americas Partner awards for GCP Customer Success and Maps Customer Success in 2016.

The company this past week announced it’s opened an office in Toronto, Canada, where 200 of its 2,000 customers are based. The office, located in WeWork’s Richmond Street West workspace amid Toronto’s tech hub, is the fifth office that SADA opened in the last six months along with New York, Austin, Chicago and Denver.

Said Safoian: “The Google Cloud Canada team has expressed a desire for us to be closer to them geographically, leveraging our sales and engineering expertise to duplicate the success we’ve enjoyed together in the U.S.”
