HP To Acquire Teradici To Boost Remote Computing Capabilities

HP Inc. this week struck an agreement to acquire high-performance remote computing software developer Teradici as the PC giant seeks to become a bigger player in the market for virtual computing technologies amid the work-from-home boom.

Teradici’s software improves performance and security for remote computing— when combined, for instance, with a virtual desktop system such as Microsoft’s Azure Virtual Desktop or forthcoming Windows 365 offering.

The acquisition of Teradici is expected to boost HP’s broader strategy of providing a selection of software services that complement its core PC business. Many people today are working from home at least part time and they want to do so with a higher-fidelity, visual, interactive experience and to do so securely.

Intel Promises ‘Performance Leadership’ By 2025 With New Road Map

Chipmaker Intel wins kudos this week for its ambitious road map for process and packaging technologies, which CEO Pat Gelsinger promises will return the company to “process performance leadership.”

The new road map, part of Intel’s IDM 2.0 hybrid manufacturing strategy, is a key component of Gelsinger’s promise to make Intel “the unquestioned leader in process technology” following a number of manufacturing missteps in recent years.

The road map for process and packaging technologies covers the four manufacturing processes that will follow Intel’s 10-nanometer SuperFin process, which powers the 11th generation Core mobile Tiger Lake processors that debuted last year.

The road map extends out through 10nm and 7nm processor technology to what Gelsinger called “the angstrom era” of Intel processors expected in 2024.

LogicGate Raises $113M To Take Its Risk Management Tool Global

LogicGate, a developer of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software, closed a $113 million funding round this week, financing the company will use to build market share, expand its business abroad and push its technology into new areas.

On the development side, the company plans to apply some of the funding to expanding its technology’s capabilities into risk quantification and prioritization, providing strategic insight to high-level executives around risk by leveraging AI, machine learning and statistical modeling.

Founded in 2015, the Chicago-based company has now raised $156 million in funding.

Palo Alto Networks Hires HPE Channel Superstar For Sales Role

Palo Alto Networks scored a big executive recruitment win this week when it hired Hewlett Packard Enterprise vice president Jas Sood as the cybersecurity company’s senior vice president of enterprise sales, CRN reported citing sources.

Sood, a 26-year HPE veteran, has been managing that company’s North America infrastructure business. She is known as a seasoned sales manager and a fierce channel advocate.

Solution providers described Sood, who was named to CRN’s Power 100 Women of the Channel list in May, as a “channel superstar.”

At Palo Alto Networks Sood will report to Worldwide Sales President Rick Congdon.

Domino Data Lab Launches Inaugural Partner Program With Resources For Service, Technology Partners

Domino Data Lab gets a high-five this week for launching its first partner program as the data science and MLOps software developer looks to scale up its work with service and technology partners and provide them with resources and benefits.

The new Domino Partner Network will provide structure for what has largely been ad hoc partner processes, according to Domino executives. It will help the company expand its work with partners and provide them with needed training, go-to-market and enablement resources and financial incentives.

The two-tier program offers tracks for Domino’s varied partner base including custom solution developers, implementation and consulting partners, IT and cloud infrastructure companies, and tool and data providers.

Domino is actively recruiting partners who can provide consulting and advisory services around business transformation and digital transformation: Machine learning and AI are frequently components of such projects, with the Domino platform playing a central role.
