Zoom Video Communications’ Channel Chief Laura Padilla has left the company to take on a new role as vice president of partners for Airtable, a San Francisco-based low-code platform that can be used for building cloud collaboration apps.

Padilla has served as Zoom’s channel leader for the last four years. The video giant did not respond to CRN’s question of who would be stepping in as Zoom’s channel chief in the wake of Padilla’s departure.

Padilla took to LinkedIn to share the news of her new role with AirTable: “There is always a beginning and here we are at the start of the partner team at Airtable,” the channel leader said.

“Airtable is excited for [Padilla] to bring her skills and expertise to help build out and strengthen its own international partner program as the company continues to evolve and take on more challenges that will be critical for its path towards $1 billion in revenue and beyond,” the company said to CRN in an email.

Padilla most recently served as Zoom’s head of global partner and platform sales and business development where she led a team of more than 300 employees. She led the global partner sales unit, including indirect sales through VARs, service providers and carriers, OEMs, referral partners, ISVs and systems integrators. Padilla also currently serves as the Deputy for the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, a diverse public policy advocacy organization with a focus on proactive, positive efforts to strengthen Silicon Valley and America‘s competitiveness for the innovation economy.

Under Padilla’s leadership, the video giant’s partner program has grown significantly in the four years since Zoom first launched its partner program for resellers. Zoom is doing about 25 percent of its business through the channel and about 30 percent of its business outside the United States is through partners, the company told CRN in March. Padilla and her team built out Zoom’s partner ecosystem to more than 8,000 global partners.

Prior to her time with Zoom, Laura served as the senior director of business development and alliances at Nutanix, director of global channel program and marketing at Box, and director of national partner marketing for Riverbed Technology.
