Cloud WAN Provider Teridion Launches Channel Partner Program

Teridion, a provider of application delivery and WAN solutions, is unveiling a channel program to help partners sell its cloud-based WAN service for the enterprise.

The San Francisco-based company's new channel program announced on Wednesday targets VARs focused on networking and SD-WAN, as well as master agent partners. Teridion will be relying strictly on the channel to sell its latest offering, Teridion for Enterprise, the company told CRN.

"This program allows our channel partners to offer customers a one-stop shop for a complete WAN service. Many of our partners have an install base heavy on equipment purchases, and now they can go back and add in an As-A-Service, recurring revenue stream," said Vice President of Global Sales Morgan Closson, who will be running the new channel program.

Teridion for Enterprise is a cloud-based WAN solution that can be used to deliver SLA-backed performance and reliability of existing WAN technologies, such as MPLS, along with the flexibility and global reach of the public cloud to help customers save money. The offering also combines SaaS application acceleration and multi-cloud access, the company said.

Teridion’s solution can run on top of 25 different cloud provider platforms today, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. The solution works with third-party SD-WAN offerings from the likes of Cisco Meraki, Silver Peak, and VeloCloud.

Partners can either sell Teridion for Enterprise as a standalone solution, or it can be integrated with existing SD-WAN offerings to the partners' portfolio, said Pej Roshan, vice president of products and marketing for Teridion. Customers pay per use, and no hardware or software is required.

Until now, Teridion has been selling its solution to large SaaS providers. But the company believes the channel will be critical in helping customers re-architect their networks to support cloud-based, critical applications, while avoiding problematic public internet connections between remote or branch office locations. Teridion's SD-WAN solution is a great value-added, cloud-based offering that partners can provide to their existing customers, Closson said.

Wanify, an SD-WAN-focused solution provider and Teridion partner is using the company’s solution both as a standalone SD-WAN offering for customers looking for an MPLS replacement, and as a "middle mile" accelerator and cloud onramp for larger enterprise customers, Nick Prosser, president and co-founder for Wanify, said.

"The ability to use this middle mile acceleration piece without making fundamental changes to the edge architecture is really interesting for our customers," Prosser said, noting that businesses don't have to make any core changes to their environments when deploying Teridion's product.

Wanify is also using Teridion's offering in conjunction with other SD-WAN solutions for its customers, such as VeloCloud. The solution can be deployed quickly and can immediately improve both cloud-based and on-premise application performance, he added.

The new channel program will help partners with deal registration and lead sharing, and offer training programs and marketing funds, the company said. Teridion's goal for the end of the year and into 2019's first-quarter is to add 6-7 VARs and 2-3 master agents to its channel program. Heading into next year, the company would like to expand its geographic coverage across North America, EMEA, and the ANZ/ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region.

"We've build a team and a program that can scale, and we are ready to start onboarding qualified partners and master agents," Closson said.

Teridion today has several well-known customers that rely on its SD-WAN technology, including Box, Atlassian, and Salesforce.
