Here Are The Fastest Growing Managed IT Services In 2023, According To MSP 500 Executives

As part of the CRN MSP 500 we asked top managed service provider executives to tell us which of their offered IT services are growing the fastest this year. Here’s what 20 had to say.

At Your Service

If you were to guess that managed service providers are seeing huge demand for security services right now, you would be right. As the number of cybersecurity threats has increased exponentially in recent years, including ransomware, phishing attacks, data theft and distributed denial of service attacks, the demand for managed security tools, services and training has exploded.

So it’s no surprise that when we asked the top executives of the CRN 2023 MSP 500 which of their services are seeing the most growth, many – perhaps a majority – cited their cybersecurity offerings. While some just said security services are generally hot, others referred to specific technologies like managed detection and response tools, services like virtual security operations centers, and employee security threat awareness training.

MSPs, however, are seeing demand for IT services beyond security. Making the list of fast-growing services were cloud migration and application modernization (Microsoft Azure seems especially hot right now), data management and analytics, managed SD-WAN, RPA and workload automation, and device-as-a-service, along with continued demand for more traditional managed services such as outsourced help desk and backup/disaster recovery.

As part of the CRN MSP 500 project, we asked top managed service provider executives to tell us which of their offered IT services are growing the fastest in 2023.
