Envision Technology’s No-Term Contracts Has Customers ‘Thrilled’

‘Clients love it,’ says Karen Penticost, vice president of business development and strategic partnerships for the solution provider. ‘Clients feel like they benefit from the no-term contract from a budget standpoint’.

Envision Technology Advisors is witnessing massive success through its no-term contracts for managed services customers.

“Clients are afraid to lock themselves into a three-year contract,” said Karen Penticost, vice president of business development and strategic partnerships for Envision. “Locking yourself into a three-year contract makes them uncomfortable. And every client that we approached when we switched them to a month-to-month, no-term contract was thrilled.”

In the past, the Pawtucket, R.I.-based solution provider sold the more standard one-, two- or three-year contracts but decided to try offing customers a no-term contract for the same solutions.

“Clients love it,” said Penticost. “Clients feel like they benefit from the no-term contract from a budget standpoint. We’re able to predict it from a 12-month standpoint.”

Envision partners with Microsoft, Dell Technologies and Lenovo, providing a slew of solutions from cloud services and data center virtualization to security and infrastructure consulting.

“We [offer] anything from Software as a Service, to help desk to managing and monitoring a part of their environment to their entire infrastructure. We also do virtual CIOs. So all of that can be put into a no-term contact,” Penticost said. “I think it’s different than industry standards. And I think it’s one of the other things that makes Envision stand out against our competitors.

The solution provider was founded in 1998 by Todd Knapp, who is still CEO of the company. Envision was an early pioneer in virtualization and one of the first certified VMware partners in New England.
