Datto Wednesday said it has hired Brooke Cunningham, a seasoned executive with years of channel marketing experience, as the MSP platform and data protection developer’s new chief marketing officer.

Cunningham left software company Splunk, where she spent five years in partner marketing, most recently as area vice president of global partner marketing and experience.

Prior to Splunk, Cunningham was at business analytics platform developer Qlik for over four-and-a-half years, including a stint as vice president of global partner marketing. She also spent just under a year at CA Technologies, and just under three years at SAP, where she had lead roles in marketing.

Cunningham replaces Matthew Richards, who served at Norwalk, Conn.-based Datto for just over five years, including nearly four years as chief marketing officer, before leaving in July 2021 to join Aqua Security as the Burlington, Mass.-based company‘s chief marketing officer in preparation for a possible IPO.

Datto CEO Tim Weller said in a prepared statement that Cunningham brings to Datto extensive experience in security and scaling businesses on a global basis.

“Brooke has guided companies through various phases of growth, from product portfolio and brand expansion, international growth, partner ecosystem maturation, and operationalizing for scale,” Weller said. “We’re excited for the skills and leadership she will provide as Datto continues to grow and expand.”
