Facebook continues to reel from a partial outage that started yesterday -- but things may be starting to return to normal.

About 23 hours after users first experienced issues with posting on Facebook and sister platform Instagram, the social media giant said users may notice fewer errors.

“Error rates have started to return to normal however, you may still experience intermittent errors,” Facebook posted on its website for developers.

Instagram said in a Twitter post at 12:41 a.m. ET on Thursday that it was back up and running.

At about 1:45 p.m. ET on Wednesday, the status page for the Facebook Platform, used by developers to build apps on Facebook, changed from reporting health to notifying users of a partial outage that began about an hour earlier.

Facebook said its recent outage was not the result of a DDoS attack. “We're focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm that the issue is not related to a DDoS attack,” the company tweeted on Thursday.
