Deloitte Packs New Center For AI Computing With Nvidia DGX A100s

Deloitte has outfitted its new Deloitte Center for AI Computing with six powerful Nvidia DGX A100 systems to speed up the development of AI solutions for customers.

The New York-based consulting giant announced the new center on Tuesday, saying its foundation is based on Nvidia’s DGX POD reference architecture that brings together multiple DGX A100 systems. The DGX A100 systems are based in Deloitte’s data center in Hermitage, Tenn., but the center’s team in the U.S. and India will have virtual access to them.

The DGX A100 has a starting price of $199,999 and contains eight of Nvidia’s A100 GPUs, which launched last year with new acceleration capabilities for training and inference workloads as well as the ability to partition itself into as many as seven distinct GPU instances. The consulting giant is also using Nvidia software and Mellanox networking components, which are integral to the DGX A100 and POD reference architecture for accelerating AI computing.

Deloitte said it will use the DGX A100 systems to develop AI applications ranging from autonomous vehicles and digital contact centers for clients in several industries, including technology, media, telecommunications, government, automotive, financial services and energy.

“The Deloitte Center for AI Computing is a pioneering effort that brings together Deloitte’s deep AI experience with the powerful supercomputing capabilities of NVIDIA DGX A100 systems to innovate with clients and accelerate their journey from AI experimentation to becoming AI-fueled organizations,” Jason Girzadas, managing principal of Deloitte Consulting, said in a statement. “Our collaboration with NVIDIA can enable clients to quickly deliver on the full promise of AI solutions to transform both their businesses and the basis of professional services.”

In a statement, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang echoed his remarks from the company’s earnings call last week that the “industrialization of AI” represents the next wave of AI adoption as sales from vertical industries grew faster than hyperscalers for the company’s data center business for the first time.

“AI is moving from research labs into industry, and Deloitte’s efforts will supercharge its reach,” Huang said. “Every industry will be transformed by AI. Products and services will be revolutionized by AI. Companies will become learning machines and their people will be supported by AI. Together with Deloitte’s global force of experienced specialists, we will turbocharge the realization of this vision.”

The new Deloitte Center for AI Computing builds upon the consulting giant’s AI Exploration Lab in Austin, Texas, and its AI Factory in Canada. Deloitte said the center will collaborate with the Deloitte AI Institute, which focuses on the “positive growth and development of AI.”
