Amazon Picks Up Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panay: Report

Moments after Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay announced his departure from the tech giant, a report has emerged that he is joining Amazon, Microsoft’s in-state rival.

Panay will run Amazon’s division for Alexa and Echo smart speakers, according to a Bloomberg report Monday.

Panay succeeds Dave Limp, Amazon’s senior vice president of Amazon Devices & Services. In August, Limp announced his retirement from Seattle-based Amazon. Limp will leave Amazon before the end of the year.

CRN has reached out to Amazon and Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft for comment.

Panay has been with Microsoft for more than 19 years, according to his account on Microsoft-owned LinkedIn. Panay announced his leave on X, formerly known as Twitter.
