Enterprise Cloud Solutions Provider Ahead To Buy Link Solutions Group

‘Joining forces with Link is a major milestone for Ahead and represents the next phase of our growth strategy,’ Ahead founder and CEO Daniel Adamany said. ‘Up to this point, we've steadily grown our business organically, but now have a strong operational and strategic foundation on which to add acquisitions.’

Chicago-based enterprise cloud solutions provider Ahead today announced a deal to buy Link Solutions Group.

Ahead said the Saline, Mich., company’s data center expertise and experience delivering storage, compute and networking solutions to enterprise customers in the Midwest, would help it build out its presence in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, and extend its reach into tech hubs in Indianapolis, Cleveland and Columbus.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and Ahead could not be immediately reached for comment.

“Joining forces with Link is a major milestone for Ahead and represents the next phase of our growth strategy,” Ahead founder and chief executive officer Daniel Adamany said in a statement. “Up to this point, we've steadily grown our business organically, but now have a strong operational and strategic foundation on which to add acquisitions.”

Founded in 2007, Ahead was acquired by New York private equity firm Court Square in 2015 for undisclosed terms.

Ahead’s Link deal is expected to be finalized in July, when Link Solutions Group president Simon Babcock subsequently will oversee Ahead’s operations in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan, and Link co-founder and CEO Clint Babcock will focus on strengthening Ahead’s strategic partnerships.

“There’s so much opportunity to help clients across the Midwest with their digital transformation efforts, and Ahead’s scale and expertise in areas like cloud, security and service management will only strengthen the value we bring to our customers,” Babcock said in a statement.

Ahead will be able to introduce enterprise service management, security, DevOps and enterprise monitoring and analytics services to existing customers of the 4-year-old Link, the company said.
