WATCH: Atos Shares Bold, Three-Year Plan For Cloud, Security, Services

Atos had its eye on the future during its annual analyst conference in Boston, where the French IT services provider laid out a three-year plan that promises new innovation in cloud, security and services.

Simon Walsh, Atos’ new head of North America operations, described Atos as the “silent assassin” in his comments on Wednesday. The IT firm, well-known abroad, is still growing brand recognition in the U.S. However, Atos executives point out that its technology is already having a big impact in a number of industries, including manufacturing.

“No one comes near us on digital factory,” said Robert Vassoyan, chief commercial officer at Atos. “We can deploy end-to-end activity on a shop floor. We can connect it with leading-edge applications. We are able to secure it and offer the same harmonized security that they have with IT.”

Atos has brought an IoT approach to manufacturing, partnering with leaders in the space like Siemens to help customers use data as a core asset to their success.

“We have implemented what we call a production twin, where we virtualized completely the production process so that they can optimize it and virtualize it in real time. As a consequence, they have reduced the time to market by 50 percent,” said Vassoyan.

Atos kicked off 2019 with a new product portfolio, strengthened by a string of acquisitions. The biggest buy in 2018 was the Troy, Michigan-based IT firm Syntel for over $3.5 billion.
