Dell is expected to hold a vote on its $21.7 billion bid to become a public entity on Dec. 11, 2018. Critical shareholders will vote despite objection by investor Carl Icahn, who published a scathing letter this week in opposition of the deal on Monday. Icahn accused Dell CEO Michael Dell and private equity firm Silver Lake of creating a “fear campaign” to force shareholders to approve the VMware stock swap agreement. He also alleged that Dell has long planned to repurchase the tracker stock at “bargain basement prices.” Dell has denied those claims.

Intel is reorganizing its Technology and Manufacturing Group into three units as one of the division's top executives plans to retire, according to a company memo sent Monday. Apple has announced a second fall product event and analysts expect that the tech giant could unveil a new iPad Pro and a new Mac notebook. The biggest changes for the iPad Pro could include a switch from Touch ID fingerprint authentication to Face ID facial recognition for authentication—as well as the removal of the home button, which is no longer required for fingerprint log-in. The new iPad Pro would thus introduce the types of navigation gestures used on the iPhone X and iPhone XS, according to some reports.
