Ken Patterson, director of channel community for MSP-focused born-in-the-cloud distributor Pax8, announced Monday morning that he will be leaving the company.

“Well after almost 4 years at Pax8 I’ve decided to part ways. I’m so proud of all we accomplished together and the community we built with all of our amazing partners,” he wrote on his LinkedIn page. “Thank you to Nick Heddy, Ryan Walsh and John Street for the opportunities I had to not only serve this fantastic community but also to work with such a brilliant team. Lastly thank you to the community who supports me as much as I supported you. Looking forward to the next part of my journey. Stay tuned!”

It was not clear where Patterson is headed to next. CRN reached out to Patterson for additional comment but did not hear back by press time.

Jennifer Bodell, SVP, Americas at Pax8, told CRN that the company is “continually evaluating our engagement strategy with the channel and evolving our approach to best meet and anticipate the changing needs of our partners and customers.”

“We have decided to take our channel engagement strategy in a new direction, and as a result, Ken Patterson and Pax8 have decided to part ways,” she said. “Ken has been a valued member of the Pax8 team for four years, and he has contributed to our success. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Pax8 will announce its engagement strategy updates within the next 90 days, she added.

At Denver-based Pax8, Patterson was responsible for managing the company’s community outreach program and partner relationships for MSPs through education, tools and support.

Before joining Pax8 in 2018, he held executive vice president positions at Techevolution, Corporate Telephone Services and Casserly Consulting LLC.

His exit comes on the heels of an acquisition and a new partnership Pax8 announced last week.

The distributor acquired New Zealand-based cloud services firm Umbrellar to expand its geographical and digital transformation services in the Asia-Pacific region. This was the first New Zealand-based company Pax8 has acquired. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pax8 also recently partnered with business software firm Intuit, giving partners access to QuickBooks Online. The platform provides customers with a streamlined suite of financial management tools to combat financial challenges.
