30 Notable IT Executive Moves: July 2022

Red Hat, Involta, Intel, Sada Systems, Microsoft, Google and Dell Technologies were among the tech companies to make executive hires during the month.

New CEOs at Red Hat and Involta, a new Intel chief privacy officer and a new chief revenue officer at Sada Systems are among the major executive hires of July 2022.

Matt Hicks, formerly of IBM; James Buie, formerly of Flexential; Xochitl Monteon, formerly of JPMorgan Chase; and Sandy Hogan, formerly of VMware, are just some of the names featured on CRN’s July 2022 IT executive moves list.

Microsoft, Google and Dell Technologies were among the other tech giants to make executive hires during the month as companies invest in resources for sales, technology and partners.

Those executives were Nandini Ramaswamy, formerly of Salesforce; Joe Matz, formerly of Simba Chain; and Sasha Pailet Koff, formerly of Johnson & Johnson.

Who changed jobs in June 2022?

The job changes come during a period dubbed the “Great Resignation” due to elevated rates of Americans quitting their jobs. The number of Americans quitting decreased slightly in June, totaling 4.2 million quits, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The quits rate was 2.8 percent.

What follows are 30 notable IT executive moves from June 2022.

Nandini Ramaswamy

Nandini Ramaswamy joined Microsoft in July as vice president of global business programs and strategic initiatives for Microsoft Customer & Partner Solutions (MCAPS) strategy and operations, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Before coming to the Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant, Ramaswamy worked at Salesforce for about 10 years, according to LinkedIn. She left with the title of senior vice president of global incentive compensation strategy and operations.

In this role, she was “responsible for global incentive compensation strategy, analytics and policy development, deployment, and experience for all of Sales & Distribution: Pre-Sales, Sales, Alliance & Channels, and Customer Success Group, including enablement, communications, Club, SPIFFs, and contests,” according to her LinkedIn.

Her resume also includes more than six years with Oracle, according to her LinkedIn. She left the database giant in 2012 with the title of director of global incentive compensation.

April Walker

April Walker moved to Salesforce last month, taking the title of senior vice president of customer success, according to her LinkedIn account.

In this role, she serves the San Francisco-based customer relationship management software provider’s “Manufacturing, Automotive, and Energy (MAE), Canada and SMB Operating Units in Northern America,” according to her LinkedIn. She leads “the team that makes every customer committed to Salesforce for life across a $3B+ business.”

Walker came to Salesforce after more than five years with Microsoft, according to her LinkedIn. She left the tech giant with the title of general manager of U.S. Microsoft technology centers and industry innovation.

In this role, she worked “to help global cross-industry enterprises transform into digital businesses and create enhanced customer experiences” and “led the national organization of the state-of-the-art US Microsoft Technology Centers (MTC/CoE) located in 15 state/cities,” according to her LinkedIn.

Her resume includes about two years with MetLife, according to her LinkedIn account. She left the company with the title of vice president of distributed engineering for global technology information and operations.

Xochitl Monteon

Last month, Xochitl Monteon returned to Intel, taking on the title of vice president of software and advanced technologies and chief privacy officer, according to her LinkedIn.

She came to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker after more than a year with JPMorgan Chase, according to her LinkedIn. She left with the title of managing director of global technology.

Monteon previously left Intel in 2021 with the title of vice president of information technology governance and chief privacy officer, according to her LinkedIn.

George Leng

George Leng joined Pure Storage in July as vice president of advanced analytics, according to his LinkedIn.

Leng came to the Mountain View, Calif.-based data storage vendor after more than eight years with Equinix, according to his LinkedIn. He left Equinix with the title of vice president and global head of data and analytics.

At Equinix, his “responsibilities included: data strategy, data governance, master data management, data operations, business Intelligence / reporting, enterprise performance management solutions, and analytics,” according to his LinkedIn.

Leng’s resume also includes more than a year with Oracle, leaving in 2013 as senior principal director of market intelligence, according to his LinkedIn. He also worked at Dell Technologies for about two years. He left Dell in 2012 as the principal strategist for Dells’ consumer and small and medium business services segment.

Sandy Hogan

Sandy Hogan joined SADA last month as its new chief revenue officer.

She came to the Los Angeles-based company – a member of CRN’s 2022 MSP 500 – after more than two years with VMware, according to her LinkedIn. She left VMware with the title of senior vice president of worldwide commercial and partner sales. She led VMware’s $10 billion partner ecosystem and its commercial business for the past two years.

In addition to working at VMware, Rackspace and Here Technologies, she worked for Cisco for 15 years from 2002 to 2017. She held various go-to-market and transformation executive roles at Cisco aimed at helping customers improve business outcomes.

Jim Yip

In July, Netrix brought on Jim Yip as vice president of revenue marketing, according to his LinkedIn.

Yip joined the Bannockburn, Ill.-based company – a member of CRN’s 2022 MSP 500 – after more than three years with Entrust, according to his LinkedIn. He left Entrust with the title of vice president of global field marketing.

In this role, he “led a high-performance marketing team across Americas, EMEA, and APJ” and “created and implemented the annual go-to-market (GTM) marketing plans that drive revenue, customer retention, and brand awareness with actionable KPIs, initiatives, and metrics,” according to his LinkedIn.

He previously worked at Thales, leaving in 2018 with the title of director of strategy and marketing for Asia Pacific, according to his LinkedIn.

Scott Yancey

Okta hired Scott Yancey last month as senior vice president of engineering, according to his LinkedIn account.

In this role, he “leads Platform and Workforce Core engineering,” according to LinkedIn.

Before joining the San Francisco-based identity technology company, Yancey worked at Salesforce for more than 14 years on and off, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company most recently with the title of senior vice president of engineering.

In this role, he “led R&D for Lightning Platform, the next generation experience platform of salesforce.com, and was responsible for UI architecture and strategy for the company,” according to LinkedIn.

In 2010, Yancey co-founded Cloudwords, a company focused on global localization. He left the company in 2016 after three years as CEO, according to his LinkedIn.

Scott Halliwell

In July, Steve Halliwell came to Oracle, taking the title of senior vice president for North America health care cloud infrastructure and technology, according to his LinkedIn.

Halliwell joined Austin, Texas-based Oracle after more than a year with Mapbox, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company with the title of chief revenue officer.

Before Mapbox, Halliwellworked at Promethean for more than three years, according to his LinkedIn. He left in 2021 with the title of chief product officer and executive vice president.

In this role, he aligned “engineering, design and analytics with the larger business strategy and the demands of our customer base to create compelling solutions” and owned “product development & product development processes to ensure increases in top line revenue and” earnings, according to his LinkedIn.

His resume includes more than seven years with Amazon Web Services. He left in 2018 with the title of general manager of the AWS commercial business’ west area, according to his LinkedIn.

Joe Matz

Google hired Joe Matz last month, giving him the title of business planning and pricing at Google Cloud, according to his LinkedIn.

Before joining the Mountain View, Calif.-based tech giant, Matz worked for more than four years at Simba Chain, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company with the title of chief operating officer.

His resume includes more than 25 years with Microsoft. He left Microsoft in 2018 with the title of corporate vice president of worldwide commercial solutions, according to his LinkedIn.

In this role, he led the “global licensing organization under the $60B commercial business including PL responsibility for MS Financing” and led the “deal team responsible for negotiating over 80% of commercial cloud revenue,” according to his LinkedIn.

He also “drove cloud licensing innovation with multi-year commitment and pay-as-you-go consumption-based models, enabling cloud revenue to surpass $30B, contributing significantly to the Company’s overall performance,” according to his LinkedIn.

Micheal DiPaolo

Last month, Michael DiPaolo joined the merged company of managed service providers Anexinet and Veristor Systems, according to his LinkedIn. He takes on the title of vice president of contact center consulting.

DiPaolo comes to the companies – both members of CRN’s 2022 MSP 500 – after 13 years with Kaplan, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company with the title of executive director of communication technology engineering.

In this role, he oversaw “all aspects of a complex customer-facing and internal communications technology services platform, including contact center, unified communications, network, enterprise collaboration, service desk, operations, and performance management functions” and managed a staff of 70, according to his LinkedIn.

Mike Stipe

Mike Stipe came to LogicalisUS in July as the new vice president of its Microsoft practice, according to his LinkedIn.

Before Stipe joined Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based LogicalisUS – a member of CRN’s 2022 MSP 500 – he worked for more than two years at Zones. He left Zones in 2020 with the title of vice president of cloud and software sales, according to his LinkedIn.

He previously served as chief revenue officer at CoreStack, according to his LinkedIn. He left in 2018 after about a year.

Stipe also worked at Persistent Systems for more than two years, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2016 with the title of senior vice president.

Samantha Chow

Capgemini hired Samantha Chow last month as vice president and global life, annuities and health sector leader, according to her LinkedIn.

In this role, she will support “carriers in their transformation by providing expertise on technology, ecosystem development, operational efficiency, data and analytics, and supporting their strategic plans through a consultative approach,” according to her LinkedIn.

Before joining the France-based company – No. 5 on CRN’s 2022 Solutions Providers 500 – Chow worked at EIS for more than two years, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company with the title of global market lead for life, annuity and health.

In this role, she acted “as the liaison between marketing, sales, R&D, and technology,” according to her LinkedIn.

Her resume also includes about five years with Aite Group, according to her LinkedIn. She left the advisory firm in 2020 with the title of senior life and annuities analyst.

Binesh Nambiar

Binesh Nambiar joined Cognizant last month as vice president of financial services sales, according to his LinkedIn.

Nambiar came to the Teaneck, N.J.-based company – No. 7 on CRN’s 2022 Solutions Providers 500 – after more than 12 years with Mphasis, according to his LinkedIn.

In his most recent role with the India-based company, he led and managed “sales and Practice for Tech & Ops line of business” and was “responsible for our Horizontal offering of Service transformation,” according to his LinkedIn.

Milton Carroll

Peraton hired Milton Carroll in July as its new vice president of business development for the space and intelligence sector, according to his LinkedIn.

Carrol joined the Herndon, Va.-based company – No. 20 on CRN’s 2022 Solutions Providers 500 – after more than four years with BAE Systems, according to his LinkedIn. He left BAE with the title of director.

Before BAE, Carroll worked at Raytheon for more than 13 years, according to his LinkedIn. He left Raytheon in 2018 with the title of director of business development and strategy.

Kenneth Oppenheimer

In July, Wipro hired Kenneth Oppenheimer as vice president of global business development, according to his LinkedIn.

Oppenheimer came to the India-based company – No. 15 on CRN’s 2022 Solutions Providers 500 – after more than two years with Computer Aid Inc. (CAI), according to his LinkedIn. He left CAI with the title of vice president of national business development.

His resume includes more than three years with Unisys, according to his LinkedIn. He left Unisys in 2020 with the title of senior strategic relationship executive for the global financial services division.

DK Sinha

DK Sinha joined Rackspace Technology last month as president of the public cloud business unit, according to a company statement.

Sinha will help Rackspace’s effort to reorganize across public and private cloud markets and focus on applications, data and security, according to the statement.

He came to the San Antonio-based multi-cloud services company after more than 25 years with Cognizant, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company with the title of president of North America.

“While at Cognizant, D K was part of the leadership team that drove the acceleration and realization of market-leading growth to underpin Cognizant’s annual revenue expansion from $25M to $16B, while simultaneously navigating significant business and technology disruptions,” according to the statement.

Justin Long

In July, Justin Long joined Denali Advanced Integration as vice president of automation, according to a company statement.

“Denali is investing heavily in automation and robotics to lead the trend across industries and geographies over the next three to five years,” according to the statement. Long will report to Denali CEO and founder Majdi Daher as a member of the executive leadership team.

Long came to the Redmond, Wash.-based company – No. 37 on CRN’s 2022 Solutions Providers 500 – after more than nine years with Olympus Controls, according to his LinkedIn.

He left Olympus with the title of division manager.

Nick Ashwin

Nick Ashwin joined Diversified last month as senior vice president of sales for digital solutions, according to his LinkedIn.

He came to the Kenilworth, N.J.-based company – No. 46 on CRN’s 2022 Solutions Providers 500 – after about 12 years with media asset management tools provider Imagen, according to his LinkedIn. He left Imagen with the title of senior vice president of the Americas.

In March 2021, the two companies announced a partnership for Diversified to deliver Imagen digital asset management tools to customers.

Chris Augenstein

Last month, Nutanix hired Chris Augenstein as senior vice president and head of the Americas, according to his LinkedIn.

Augenstein came to the San Jose, Calif.-based cloud software vendor after more than two years with VMware, according to his LinkedIn. He left VMware with the title of vice president and head of U.S. enterprise sales.

His resume includes more than 19 years with Cisco, according to his LinkedIn. He left Cisco in 2020 with the title of vice president of the global enterprise segment.

Scott Singhass

Skyhigh Security hired Scott Singhass in July as vice president of cloud operations, according to his LinkedIn.

Before joining the San Jose, Calif.-based cybersecurity vendor, Singhass worked at Bright Health for about a year, according to his LinkedIn. He left with the title of vice president of infrastructure.

Singhass’ resume includes more than six years with LogMeIn, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2021 with the title of vice president of global infrastructure operations. In this role, he led “a 130-member engineering team spanning North America, Europe, and Asia in managing application and infrastructure operations, service management, and engineering services for LMI’s portfolio of 16 products.

While at LogMeIn, Singhass would “oversee a budget of $120M, maximize KPIs, and ensure team activities align organizational objectives,” according to his LinkedIn.

He also spent more than eight years with Intuit, according to his LinkedIn. He left Intuit in 2015 with the title of director of product infrastructure delivery and operations.

Christine Currie

Last month, Christine Currie joined Unitas Global as vice president of strategic sourcing, according to her LinkedIn account.

Currie came to the Chicago-based company – a member of CRN’s 2022 MSP 500 – after more than a year with Internap (INAP). At INAP, she “handled facility management and logistical operations,” according to her LinkedIn account.

She previously worked at ManagedWay for about two years, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company in 2020 with the title of director of sales.

In this role, Currie built sales processes “and led all performing sales activities for cloud computing, DIA and colocation” and “leveraged self-made sales plans to ensure revenue growth and maintained key vendor and client relationships,” according to her LinkedIn.

Her resume includes more than three years with 365 Data Centers, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company in 2018 with the title of carrier account director.

Michael Aiello

In July, Secureworks hired Michael Aiello as its new chief technology officer.

Aiello came to the Atlanta-based security company after more than a year at Human, according to his LinkedIn. His title when he left the company was chief product officer.

He previously served as CEO of security analytics company AppGate for less than a year, leaving the company in 2020, according to his LinkedIn.

Before AppGate, Aiello worked at Google on and off for more than six years, according to his LinkedIn. His most recent period with Google ended in 2019. He left with the title of director of product management. In this role, he was the “security Product Management Lead for Google Cloud and Infrastructure.

He also led “Google‘s enterprise cloud security products including: Google’s Key Management Services, Cloud Data Loss Prevention, Cloud Audit Logging, Cloud Access Transparency, ISTIO Security, Data Governance and Data Retention among others,” according to LinkedIn.

Sasha Pailet Koff

Sasha Pailet Koff joined Dell Technologies last month, taking on the title of senior vice president of digital supply chain, according to her LinkedIn.

In this role, Koff is “responsible for leading Dell‘s global digital supply chain function, building the strategy to deliver real-time supply chain data and insight to further accelerate innovation, reduce time to market, and maximize operational efficiency while reducing costs and improving customer experience,” according to her LinkedIn.

Koff came to the Round Rock, Texas-based computer giant after about 20 years on and off with Johnson & Johnson, according to her LinkedIn. She left J&J with the title of vice president and supply chain technology leader for consumer health.

In this role, she “led all Consumer Health Supply Chain areas including Planning, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing (30 plants globally) and Deliver along with end-to-end Data-Cyber Security,” according to her LinkedIn.

David Kluzak

LogRhythm hired David Kluzak in July as chief revenue officer, according to his LinkedIn.

Kluzak came to the Boulder, Colo.-based security company after more than 11 years with VMware, according to his LinkedIn. He left VMware with the title of vice president of worldwide strategic alliances.

In this role, he stewarded “a $40M OPEX, $1.1B Revenue Goal, and 64 employees (with 12 direct),” according to his LinkedIn. He was also “responsible for the partnerships and revenue of the top 20 global system integrators and outsourcers representing 40%+ of global IT services spend.”

His resume includes more than 15 years with CA Technologies, which is now part of Broadcom, a chip giant in the process of buying VMware. He left CA in 2011 with the title of vice president of the service assurance business group, according to his LinkedIn.

Todd Surdey

Todd Surdey joined Zoom in July as its channel chief and head of global channels and business development.

Surdey came to the San Jose, Calif.-based video communications company from Google, according to his LinkedIn. He worked at Google for less than a year and left with the title of vice president of global security sales.

Prior to his stint at Google, Surdey served as CRO of Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex business. He also served as senior vice president of Americas enterprise and commercial sales and senior vice president of sales and routes to market for the company.

Surdey has held leadership roles at SAP, Salesforce and VMware, where he was co-channel chief for an ecosystem of more than 70,000 partner organizations.

James Buie

James Buie moved from the president role at Involta to the CEO spot in July.

Buie joined the Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based company – a member of CRN’s 2022 MSP 500 – in 2016 as chief financial officer to further drive profitability for the company and expand its nationwide footprint.

As CFO, he grew the company’s hybrid cloud and strategic consulting offerings through acquiring BluPrairie and IT|Lynk. In 2020, he became president of the company where he restructured the firm’s operations to help scale and deliver services to accelerate growth.

Before Involta, he worked at Flexential for about four years, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2016 with the title of senior vice president.

His predecessor, Bruce Lehrman, became vice chairman of Involta’s board of directors.

Jeremy Chiu

In July, Jeremy Chiu joined Trace3 as vice president of corporate development, according to his LinkedIn.

In this role, Chiu will help to lead corporate development and mergers and acquisitions, according to his LinkedIn.

Last year, the Irvine, Calif.-based company – No. 36 on CRN’s 2022 Solutions Providers 500 – was bought by private equity firm American Securities.

Chiu previously worked as a director at WestSummit Capital for five years, according to his LinkedIn. In this role, he helped to lead U.S. investments and operations for the technology growth stage investor.

Sarah Foote

Sarah Foote joined GreenPages Technology Solutions last month as vice president of marketing, according to her LinkedIn.

Foote came to the Kittery, Maine-based company – a member of CRN’s 2022 MSP 500 – after more than a year with Fortinet, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company with the title of national channel marketing manager.

She previously worked at Carousel Industries for more than three years, according to her LinkedIn. Foote left the company in 2021 with the title of director of demand generation.

Her resume includes more than seven years with Presidio, according to her LinkedIn. She left the company in 2018 with the title of senior marketing manager.

Omar Dajani

Palo Alto Networks hired Omar Dajani last month as the worldwide vice president of solution architecture for cloud security for the Prisma Cloud product, according to his LinkedIn.

In this role, he will “build and lead the cloud security solution architect team for the hottest and most successful cybersecurity company,” according to a post on his LinkedIn.

Before he joined the Santa Clara, Calif.-based cybersecurity company, Dajani worked at Google for more than six years, according to his LinkedIn. He left with the title of head of solution engineering for independent software vendors (ISVs) and services partners for Google Cloud Platform in North America.

At Google, Dajani built “two cloud engineering teams that delivered some of the largest deals for Google Cloud,” according to a post on LinkedIn. He helped grow the West cloud engineering team tenfold within three years and built an engine of scale through ecosystem partners. In three years, that team grew fivefold.

His resume includes more than eight years on and off with Veritas Technologies, according to his LinkedIn. He most recently left Veritas in 2016 with the title of global head of technical sales for system integrators and cloud service providers.

Dajani also spent more than eight years with Symantec, according to his LinkedIn. He left the company in 2015 with the title of senior director of market Insights and competitive intelligence.

Matt Hicks

Matt Hicks was promoted to CEO of IBM subsidiary Red Hat in July.

Hicks was previously the executive vice president of products and technologies of the Raleigh, N.C.-based open source software tools vendor, according to his LinkedIn.

His predecessor, Paul Cormier, became the chairman of the company.

Hicks joined Red Hat in 2006 as a developer on the IT team, according to the statement. He was a key member of the engineering team behind Kubernetes platform Red Hat OpenShift and helped to expand the portfolio to handle multiple clouds, the edge and other environments.
