Business data analytics platform developer Incorta is debuting several new and enhanced data applications and launching an online marketplace where partners can offer their own analytical content.

The company is also working to get its new component and connector software developer kits (SDKs) into the hands of partners with the goal of helping them build custom data applications, data visualizations and other analytical content.

The new data applications extend Incorta’s reach and agility, according to the company, while the new online marketplace opens the door to customizations and packaged solutions from partners and the Incorta community.

Incorta develops an end-to-end data analytics platform that collects raw, detailed data from the databases that underlie ERP, financial and other enterprise applications from SAP, Oracle, Salesforce and other vendors and provides real-time operational analytics for decision makers.

“Customers are looking to continuously shrink their time-to-insight,” said Steve Walden (pictured), Incorta executive vice president of strategy, in an interview with CRN.

The company’s technology takes a different tack from traditional approaches to analytics that collect data in data warehouse or data lake systems for analysis. That typically involves building a data analysis “stack” of multiple technologies including data warehouse platforms, data management and transformation tools, and data analytics software.

In addition to its core analytics platform Incorta offers data applications – pre-built analytic content and integrations that work with enterprise applications. This week Incorta released new and improved data applications for Workday (workforce and compensation), Oracle EBS and Cloud ERP (financials and supply chain), SAP ECC (financials and supply chain) and Oracle EBS and Cloud ERP (human capital management).

Of particular importance for Incorta partners, the company is also providing a new component SDK that partners can use to build extensions to the vendor’s platform and data applications, as well as develop their own custom data applications, data visualizations, dashboard controls and other analytical content that work with the Incorta platform.

The new component SDK joins the company’s connections SDK, which is used to build links between the Incorta platform and data sources. Incorta already provides more than 50 natively supported connectors for access to more than 240 data sources.

Partners can use Incorta’s SDKs, APIs, SQL interfaces and multi-language code notebooks to develop their own data applications and connections.

“The news is [we’re] making it so that partners can easily build and extend these data apps,” Walden said. Incorta’s data applications tend to be broad, business-focused applications, he said, while a partner can develop analytical software focused on specific vertical markets or role-based analytical applications for use by, for example, a chief financial officer, a financial analyst or a supply chain vice president.

Incorta works with a range of solution provider and strategic service provider partners with about 45 percent of Incorta’s new and upsell business done with reseller and referral partners, according to Walden. The company also works with ISV, technology partners and all three major cloud service providers.

“The channel really, for us, is where the bulk of our energy is being spent because it‘s driving so much of our revenue,” Walden said.

The new marketplace will be embedded within Incorta’s software-as-a-service platform and will be live with the next release slated for early September.

Incorta partner Perficient, a St. Louis-based solution provider that is No. 51 on the CRN Solution Provider 500, has developed a data application for the marketplace for financial planning, budgeting and consolidation that will run on top of the Oracle Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) application.

Likewise, Incorta partner Dilytics, a San Mateo, Calif.-based provider of data analysis solutions and services, is preparing a data application for the marketplace for process manufacturing based on the Oracle Process Management application.

And ISV partner Blackline is developing an application for the marketplace that will work with the Incorta platform to integrate data from ERP systems from Oracle, SAP and other vendors to provide financial performance insights for CFOs, controllers and other finance executives.

“What we‘re doing now is making this so that partners can bring their industry and domain expertise to bear, package up IP [intellectual property] as accelerator assets and then monetize their work. And the partners can then leverage these capabilities through the marketplace,” Walden said.

“Partners, obviously, are looking for ways to gain new customers. So this marketplace will expose their intellectual property to all of our customers,” Walden continued. “Customers are looking [for] faster time-to-value, so having these accelerator assets that the partners have built [is]how they‘re able to accelerate their time-to-value. We think this marketplace is a great way for partners and customers to really come together.”
