New Worksoft Release Automates Integration, Testing Of Enterprise Applications

Worksoft has debuted a significant new release of its application automation platform the developer says brings extended business process testing and discovery capabilities to enterprise application implementation and integration projects.

For the company's solution provider and systems integration partners, the new software presents an opportunity to redefine and streamline their software development and implementation methodologies, said Shoeb Javed, Worksoft CTO, in an interview.

"We think this is a major transformation cycle in the marketplace," Javed said, noting the industry change from monolithic, on-premises applications to complex networks of cloud applications and microservices.

Worksoft's technology is used to automate the testing of newly implemented and integrated enterprise applications, both custom developed and packaged software from major vendors, connecting activities and business processes that span multiple, often distributed applications.

The new release, the fifth generation of the product, has been under development for three years, according to Javed. It enables continuous testing, a requirement for today's ever-changing IT systems, and automatically discovers business processes that can be leveraged throughout an operation or business – what the company calls "transferable automation."

"Automation is now the primary mode of doing business," Javed said.

The new release is more modular and supports complex cloud-based and HTML5 web applications, according to the Dallas-based company, using machine-learning technology to automate business process discovery, documentation, compliance, risk analysis and robotic process automation tasks.

Worksoft's platform works with applications from a range of vendors including SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow and others. The company is especially prevalent in the SAP arena.

The company partners with a number of global systems integrators including Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro and Capgemini. Accenture recently announced a new DevOps practice for SAP application environments that incorporates the Worksoft system, Javed said.

Worksoft's roster of solution provider partners includes Infosys, Yash Technologies, NueVista Group and SOAIS.

Javed noted that where solution providers and systems integrators in the past billed customers for time and materials, the trend is toward getting paid for project outcomes and success-based metrics – an area where he said the Worksoft technology can provide the necessary capabilities to achieve those outcomes.
